(Senior) Full-stack Engineer (all genders) | Climate Tech

Your Role & Mission - We're looking for a pragmatic and curious Fullstack Engineer who loves solving problems end-to-end. You should feel at home working across the stack - frontend, backend and infrastructure - and bring a flexible, product-driven mindset.

This role is perfect for generalists who want to build real things, move fast and continuously ask: How is the customer actually using this? We care about strong fundamentals - but even more about people who can ship, communicate and think like owners.

Our Hiring Process - Our Engineering team is growing fast and we are seeking talented Software Engineers across different backgrounds and experience levels. We know that each level of experience involves its own set of challenges and expectations, and the hiring process is tailored accordingly to evaluate all candidates effectively. That means each interview step is focused on assessing both technical and soft skills across our engineering competency framework. • Build and ship end-to-end features across the stack (React/Next.js, NestJS, Python, PostgreSQL)

• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to solve real customer problems

• Own your work - from idea to deployment and beyond

• Work on a service-oriented architecture deployed on AWS

• Bring your ideas, challenge assumptions, and shape our technical direction with the team

• (If senior) Mentor others and help us raise the engineering bar

• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in fullstack or web development in B2B SaaS

• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally with React and/or Next.js

• Experience building backend services in Node.js or Python

• Understanding of relational databases (we use PostgreSQL)

• Exposure to cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS

• Someone who thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments

• Strong communicator who enjoys working across functions and collaborating with product

• You are passionate about business sustainability, carbon emissions management, and climate tech in alignment with Carbmee’s mission and vision

• You are excited to join our diverse and international team in Berlin or Munich

Bonus points:

• You’ve worked on technically interesting systems - think real-time processing, distributed systems, event-driven architecture, performance optimization or scalable APIs

• You’re someone who gets things done and figures things out

• You've worked in small teams or startups where ownership was key
