Your Role - We are looking for a Finance & Accounting expert to take ownership of the entire finance management structure at Carbmee. You will work closely with different internal and external stakeholders and be responsible for the day-to-day finance operations, including everything from budgeting to accounting to reporting to due diligence.

Your Mission - By joining our Finance team, you will have the opportunity to build, improve, and expand processes for all teams within the company. This is a great opportunity to take your career to the next level doing something worthwhile - fighting climate change. If you thrive on leading cross-functional projects, can communicate efficiently and effectively, and are excited to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, then apply below. We want to hear from you!
Your tasks
  • Finance Operations - Manage and improve all day-to-day finance processes, including accounting, invoicing, payment runs, bank reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring. Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and P&L reports.

  • Financial Control & Reporting - Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, internal reporting, and compliance with relevant accounting standards. Support the preparation of the annual financial statements and audits.

  • Budget Management Support - Maintain and update the rolling budget and forecast data in close collaboration with our Chief of Staff. Provide reliable actuals, ensure cost tracking, and surface potential issues or discrepancies proactively.

  • Cash & Payment Management - Monitor and manage incoming and outgoing payments, coordinate with external partners on payroll and tax topics, and ensure liquidity planning aligns with company priorities.

  • Process Development - Continuously improve and scale our financial processes and tools. Help implement and document policies that align with our growth stage and enable smoother reporting and audit readiness.

  • Collaboration - Communicate with external tax advisors and tax consultants and ensure a smooth cross-functional collaboration with all departments, including Operations, Revenue, Customer Experience, and the entire Management team.

Your profile
  • Several years in accounting or financial operations, ideally in a fast-paced B2B SaaS startup, consulting, or similar environment with a focus on monthly closes, financial reporting, and compliance

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA or equivalent qualifications are a strong plus

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles (HGB and/or IFRS) and controlling; experience with DATEV, Spendesk, and spend management tools is a plus

  • You’ve independently managed cash flow, budgets, payment runs, and reporting processes end-to-end and are confident in taking full ownership of finance operations

  • Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets and experienced with modern finance tools (e.g., Salesforce, Google Workspace). You enjoy working with numbers and can extract insights from financial data

  • Fluent English skills, both written and spoken. German language knowledge is a great plus

  • You work precisely, communicate clearly, and enjoy making financial data understandable for non-finance stakeholders

  • You’re proactive, adaptable, and thrive in a collaborative, fast-moving startup environment
